My Years at NBC

I worked for NBC from 1954 to 1964 as an executive secretary which meant I did a little of everything. Some of the jobs I performed were to ensure music had copyright release from ASCAP and BMI, I read scripts that were going into production to ensure the stories weren't similar to other westerns that were on TV at the time, and I also got to act as script girl for the pilot of Bonanza. Overall, it was one of the best jobs I ever had!

Me singing at an NBC Function. It may have been one of their Christmas parties. Those were some of the best parties I ever attended.

My boss at NBC, Fenton Coe, Director of Film Production. He was one of the greatest men I ever met and a great boss too!

(On the back of his picture he wrote:
"All my best - To the best (Sec'y that is) - Fenton Coe"

This is a copy of a Shooting Schedule for Bonanza Episodes. I had written a script called "Ponderosa Spirit" that was scheduled to be shot, but the untimely death of Dan Blocker caused it to be shelved (as Hoss was the prominent character in the script).
